Our Vision

The Vision of Camp Ondessonk, a camp founded on the Catholic Faith, is to be the world’s best youth camp. Inspired by positive role models, campers will experience the wonders of God’s creation through adventurous, challenging activities in a unique, rustic environment.

 Rachelle joined Camp Ondessonk on September 25, 2011.  She started her cooking career at Alaska General Seafood in Ketchikan, Alaska during the summers of 2005-2008.  She has been working in the summer camp field since 2007 at YMCA Camp Duncan & YMCA Camp Independence in Ingleside, IL.  Rachelle started as a kitchen assistant at YMCA Camp Duncan and quickly stepped into the role of Food Service Manager for the following four years.  Rachelle has a passion for working in the camp community, cooking from scratch, and feeding hungry campers.  When she’s not in the kitchen, Rachelle enjoys spending the day cooking at home and playing with her dog Tater Tot.
