Those heartwarming words mean the world to us, because it means another child was touched by Camp Ondessonk, and the spirit of Camp lives on!
Camp Ondessonk has established two Campership Funds that make it possible for families with financial hardship to receive assistance for all or part of their summer tuition. Every summer, dozens of campers create a lifetime of memories, friendships, confidence and skills, thanks to generous donations from friends like you. All gifts great and small are appreciated!
The Camp Ondessonk Campership Fund provides up to 60% of tuition coverage for families with a demonstrated financial need.
The Monsignor John T. Fournie Campership Fund is a full-scholarship program (which includes full tuition, bus fare, camping gear and Barter Bucks), and serves underprivileged children from the Belleville and E. St. Louis area.
Partnering with agencies like Catholic Urban Programs and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of St. Clair County, our goal is to double the number of scholarship recipients during each of the next two summers.
With the economic downturn, more families are requesting assistance for tuition, and our waiting list is still long. Thanks to the swelling support from our donors and friends, we offer the special kind of Camp Ondessonk experience that many of us have enjoyed -- to the children who can benefit the most.
