A note about on line registration for groups: Please be assured, our on line registration system makes group registration easy and convenient. Camper groups of six or less will be assigned to the same unit as their friends if the last camper to register does so within five days of the first child within his/her "envelope of friends". A unit is a group of closely neighboring cabins. Though not guaranteed, we work hard to assign camper groups of six or less to the same cabin within a unit. In isolated cases, it is mathematically impossible to do so. Most camps don't bother assigning friend groups of three or more to the same living area because of the effort involved. As you can see, we feel differently about group registration. Questions, please contact our registrar at 618-695-2489, ext. 109.

For 50 years, traditional camps have been the Ondessonk favorite. Learn and perfect skills like canoeing, archery, riflery, horseback riding, and more. At night, roast marshmallows over campfires, watch a Native American ceremony, or play an all-camp game of extreme flashlight tag. Each unit will also have the opportunity to cook dinner over a campfire and sleep under the stars. Traditional campers get to live in our unique rustic units and spend their time at camp building skills and confidence, and making new friends.

Mini Camp is a special three day, three night session for younger children. It is the perfect way to give campers an introduction to the Camp Ondessonk tradition of rustic, nature based camping in the Shawnee National Forest.
The Mini Camp schedule includes horseback instruction and riding, handicrafts, boating, swimming, archery, evening campfires, skits, and lots of singing. All activities are modified to best serve the mini-camp age group. With one Ondessonk counselor for every three or four campers, mini campers receive nearly constant guidance and companionship from our caring staff. Incidentally, many of our staff members were once mini campers.
