| Volunteerism at Ondessonk |
|
When Camp Ondessonk was established in 1959, individuals, groups and parishes from throughout the Diocese of Belleville provided funding, resources, and volunteer labor. From that point forward, Ondessonk's culture of volunteerism strengthened to become what it is today. Dedicated Ondessonk Friends are currently involved in nearly every facet of the operation. Among other functions critical to Ondessonk's success serving kids, volunteers serve on planning committees, build cabins, help with fundraising, and work alongside our staff during summer camp. Aside from the ever-important need to make summer camp financially accessible to families, this culture of volunteerism provides our campers with an inspiring, real-life illustration of how volunteer service makes the world a better place. The campers of Ondessonk are forever grateful to those that volunteer. For additional information about becoming involved, please see the links to the right.
